Politica UK and its connection to Goddamn Media A Legacy of Radical Satire and Independent Voices

From Goddamn Media to Politica UK: A Legacy of Radical Satire and Independent Voices

🎙️ A Tale Teller Club Press Project — Born from Goddamn Media. Art as resistance. Satire as truth.

Goddamn Media, Politica UK, Brighton Arts Club, independent journalism, political satire, UK politics, art activism, Brighton art scene, alternative broadcasting, Tale Teller Club Press

Where It All Began

Before Politica UK became the sharp-tongued, illustrated commentary platform it is today, it began life in the underground studios of Goddamn Media — a radical, independent broadcasting collective born out of the creative energy of the Brighton Arts Club.
Founded in the late 2000s by artist and producer Pasha du Valentine, Goddamn Media was never afraid to provoke, question, and amplify unheard voices. Its programming ranged from experimental interviews with musicians and artists to unfiltered social commentary, streamed through pirate-style internet radio and video platforms long before live-stream culture went mainstream.

Goddamn Media and the Brighton Arts Club

Operating under the same rebellious umbrella as the Brighton Arts Club, Goddamn Media provided a public stage for artists, thinkers, and misfits who refused to conform.
From late-night talk shows to raw performance art broadcasts, the channel captured the gritty realism of the Brighton counterculture scene — a mix of punk ethics, queer expression, and political awareness that defined a generation of DIY creators.

It wasn’t slick, but it was real. Every glitch, echo, and candid confession became part of its texture. This spirit of imperfection and truth-telling continues to shape Politica UK’s tone today.

The Shift to Politica UK

As the political climate changed — post-Brexit, post-truth, post-sanity — the time came to evolve.
What began as a live performance and radio-driven network under Goddamn Media transformed into a digital satire and commentary platform: Politica UK.
Instead of late-night talk segments, the new era took form through hand-drawn cartoons, digital collages, and short political essays published under the Tale Teller Club Press banner.

The focus expanded from Brighton to Britain — and from broadcast to illustrated journalism.

Today, Politica UK continues Goddamn Media’s mission: to call out hypocrisy, expose absurdity, and champion creative resistance through art.

A New Kind of Commentary

Politica UK reimagines activism through visual storytelling.
The satirical cartoons — often hand-inked in the tradition of Hogarth and Gillray, yet digitally coloured with modern flair — form a bridge between 18th-century satire and 21st-century social media discourse.

Through humour and subversion, Politica UK explores themes of:

  • Political corruption and class absurdity

  • Environmental hypocrisy

  • Celebrity politics and misinformation

  • Social commentary on power, privilege, and media spin

Each piece is a continuation of Goddamn Media’s original ethos — raw, unapologetic, and fiercely independent.

Legacy and Continuity

While Goddamn Media lives on as an archive of rebellious broadcast art, its DNA flows directly into Politica UK’s ongoing creative commentary.
The voices once amplified through microphones now speak through pen and pixel — but the spirit is unchanged: art as resistance, satire as truth.

Visitors can explore the living archive through the Tale Teller Club Press network, where Politica UK continues to release new satirical artworks, videos, and essays every week — keeping the radical heart of Goddamn Media beating in a new digital age.
