About Politica UK
Politics, but illustrated. Power, but punctured. News, but with better lighting.
Politica UK is the satirical art desk of Tale Teller Club Press, created by British artist-author Sarnia de la Maré as an antidote to the increasingly theatrical nature of global politics. If the world insists on behaving like a circus, someone may as well draw the clowns.
This project blends hand-drawn illustration, feminist critique, and a distinctly punk-minded attitude towards authority. Think of it as political dissent wrapped in a vintage etching, sprinkled with humour, and baked in the Brighton Arts Club oven.
What Politica UK Does
-
Creates illustrated satire of current events in the UK, US, and beyond
-
Reworks classic Hogarth-era techniques for modern political chaos
-
Offers commentary from a feminist, outsider, counterculture perspective
-
Publishes daily/weekly shorts on YouTube
-

Why This Exists
Because art is a political act.
Because laughter is survival.
Because a well-timed cartoon can cut deeper than any headline.
Politica UK stands at the crossroads of:
punk rebellion,
feminist intelligence,
British humour,
and a lifetime of creative dissent.
What to Expect
-
New illustrated cartoons every week
-
Satire that never punches down
-
Commentary that isn’t afraid to be clever
-
A growing digital archive of political art
-
A future print magazine, membership tier, and long-form explainers
Politica UK is not left or right.
It is art-led, people-first, independent commentary — created entirely by one pencil-wielding woman in a studio filled with far too many sketchbooks.
Welcome to the political wing of the Tale Teller universe.
Grab a cup of tea. Put the news on mute. Let the drawings speak.

More Information
Politica UK is a radical British satire and visual commentary project born from the Brighton Arts Club network. Blending Hogarth-style illustration with modern meme culture, it skewers global politics—from Westminster to Washington. Expect outrageous news cartoons, alternative posters, and sharp takes on media hypocrisy, populist spectacle, and the age of algorithmic outrage.
Drawn, painted, and published under the Tale Teller Club banner.

Politica-UK is an independent platform for intelligent commentary on culture, media, and technology — where art meets power and imagination meets policy. Edited and written by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA, the site examines the systems shaping public life through the lens of creativity, ethics, and design.
Originally launched as a daily news and opinion blog, Politica-UK has evolved into a space for slow journalism: concise reflections on the patterns behind headlines, the aesthetics of influence, and the social impact of automation. It is less about breaking news and more about decoding it.
Editorial Focus
Each article sits at the intersection of politics, art, and technology — exploring how ideas, media, and algorithms shape behaviour and belief. The tone is sharp but humane, witty yet grounded, seeking insight rather than outrage.
From essays on digital ethics to cultural reviews and political sketches, Politica-UK connects everyday events to broader creative and philosophical questions. It treats politics not as spectacle, but as collective design — the art of how we organise ourselves.
About the Editor
Sarnia de la Maré is an artist, author, and technologist whose broader work includes Creative Futures, the Tale Teller Club, and the AURA Digital Gallery. She approaches politics as a system of aesthetics — one that, like art, can be refined, reimagined, and made humane through awareness and design.
Mission Statement
To rethink the relationship between power, technology, and imagination — and to remind readers that creativity is a civic force.
